The Pulse - Best HS Radio Station Award

Congratulations to these young people and their instructors!

This situation is the opposite of that at my old school where waning student interest led to the shuttering of the radio communications program years ago. The Oasis Network now occupies that frequency, but the School Board still owns the tower and makes money from Oasis and many others who lease the vertical real estate.

Hopefully this training will prepare these kids for podcasting, voice-tracking or whatever else the future of broadcasting brings because most will likely never experience the thrill of hosting a live show on commercial, terrestrial radio, and that makes this geezer kind of sad.
