Susan Candiotti and Binghamton Reunion Update

We're into the home stretch for the Binghamton Broadcasters Reunion, still scheduled for Saturday, September 24, 2011, at the Binghamton Riverwalk and Conference Center.

If you're planning to join us for the optional buffet, please send your payment for $21.95 quickly to Ray Ross/Binghamton Reunion, Box 303, Endicott, NY 13760.

The Riverwalk Hotel would like a paid head-count prior to the event. There will be some limited walk-ups available if you are making last minute plans.

Other than that, the Binghamton Broadcasters Reunion is a free event, with the optional buffet at 530pm, followed by cocktail hour, and the program at 8pm.

Joining us for the reunion this year will be Susan Candiotti. Susan began her full-time career as a reported and anchor at WBNG-TV in Binghamton. After four years at Channel 12, Susan continued her career at WGR in Buffalo and Miami. Susan joined CNN in 1994. She is currently based in New York and is a CNN National correspondent. She has received numerous awards for her investigative reporting and has participated in Emmy-award coverage of stories, including the 9/11 attacks.

Susan will be inducted into the Southern Tier Broadcasters and Bundy Museum Hall of Fame during the reunion. Susan will be on-call the weekend of the reunion, and she is taking time out from her duties at CNN to join us.

Also receiving an award this year will be Broadcaster of the Year Steve Craig, and Living Legend Tom Shiptenko.

Long time sales and management person Mary Lou Dimmick will receive the Special Achievement Award.

Also being honored will be front office person Judy Z of Citadel Binghamton, who has been at the station for some 36 years.

In addition to Susan, a number of people will be in attendance, and will be inducted into the Binghamton Broadcasters Hall of Fame, including John Leslie, Dick Biondi, Phil Jackson, Bill Flynn, Steve Craig, Roger Neel, Margaret Bryant and Merv Griffin.

Also being inducted as a Special Contributor will be Gary Lewis of Gary Lewis and the Playboys.
