KPIX preempted TPIR
You still could see it on KXTV if you had that as well, including my household back then in Dublin, California as noted above. KPIX brought back TPIR on March 7, and dropped it again exactly eight months later. On a side note, KXTV switched TPIR and Dinah! on May 9. I remember watching TPIR twice on both CBS stations that summer at those different times.

You're probably thinking "Monty Python was on the Midnight Special?" Yes they did--way back in 1973, a full year before PBS started showing the series

Just confirmed from thetvdvb as some of those guests are from flashbacks. Had no way of knowing beforehand. Thanks for the clarification. Was that Monty Python's sole Midnight Special appearance?

Probably. IMDB claims they also appeared on a David Steinberg hosted all-comedy show in 1974. But since that's all the proof there was a 1974 appearance, while there is lots of evidence of the 1973 appearance, either the 1974 appearance never happened or it was just a reran clip.

Schoolhouse Rock! followed all ABC weekend children's programs except The Krofft Supershow, the ABC Short Story Special (Saturday) and The New Advenutres of Gilligan (Sunday).

In the News followed all CBS Saturday morning programs.

Also, KGO's Saturday listing of Scooby-Doo/Dynomutt should be 8:00 instead of 9:00.
