Rapid City Stations Criticized For Storm Coverage

Rapid City stations get some critical comments for the lack of storm coverage in the Rapid City Journal web site.

http://www.rapidcityjournal.com/articles/2007/08/17/news/top/doc46c639dc561fc460890696.txt

The paper's site has a feature called "Rapid Reply" where readers can comment on a story.

Some examples:
"THANK YOU KELO LAND!"

" Is there a representative from KEVN, KOTA or KNBN that would like to comment on all of this? It is really sad that KEVN chose to air a meaningless NFL pre-season game instead of warning people about what danger was afoot.

So even the regular listeners noted the fact that nobody is home when it comes to local TV and radio during severe weather situations.

The "Thank You Kelo Land" was in response of praise to KELO/KCLO's excellent coverage of the storm, despite the fact KCLO is a mere satellite of KELO in Souix Falls.

To this day it still boggles my mind as to why KEVN went from NBC to Fox.
