need help with antenna

I hope someone here can help me. I have a Jensen PNPR1 and the corresponding audiovox boombox.
The receive is up and powered on, and it tells me the antenna is not detected. I have not tried it in my car yet. I will not activate the service until it recognizes my antenna as I don't wanna get screwed out of service time.
I have tried moving the antenna, unplugging and plugging it back in. It was brand new factory sealed. I try calling the Sirius number, they send me over to product support. I talk to product support, they send me to the Audiovox/Jensen number. I get there they tell me they are not open on the weekend and to visit the website. I visit the website and the website tells me it has an internal error.
Other than some smart response like" well obviously your problem is you bought Sirius", what am I doing wrong? Is there an easy fix for this that I am missing? Please help!!

In all likelihood, this is something real simple. You say you haven't tried it in your car yet. Does that mean you have a car dock? Go ahead, set it up and see if your antenna is detected in your car. It's possible your home doesn't have a good view of the satellites. On the road, you shouldn't have a problem. If you still have a problem in the car, then it could be an equipment problem. Are you in/close to a city? If not, you probably will have to depend exclusively on the satellites instead of a local repeater. The Sirius Web site has tips on pointing the antenna for your part of the country. If you aren't near a repeater and don't have a good view of the birds' horizon, that may explain your problem at home.
