nbc Miami: "Pirates hijack Christian station with hardcore rap"

I'm sorry...people like this DESERVE jail time!

Firstly, it's not just radio geeks that know operating a pirate station is in violation of Florida state law. Second, no matter what, you NEVER put any station on an adjacent channel...much less two legitimate adjacent stations!

And lastly, why would anybody mount a FM antenna on their own house?!?! That's just asking to get a fine or jail time!

Does anybody know what type of setup they found at this guy's place? If it's on a house the antenna couldn't be much higher than 30' which means probably 100w or more to start really getting any sort of signal in the area.

Radio-X

Several years ago, we found a one on 89.5 transmitting from the roof at 800 West Oakland Park Blvd.
Notified both adjacent stations as well as the leasing agent who had a huge phone number on the side of the building.
Don't know what became of that one, but the leasing agent refused to accept culpability and told us he would not get involved as long as they pay their rent on time. Leasing agents and/or owners should always share responsibility.

This is the ONLY thing that bothers us.
They can be all over the dial with French, Chinese, or Profane, but NOT on top of or next to a station that we want to hear.
