Anybody know where KFI-AM places in the San Diego Arbitron book? Do any other LA AM stations make the top 20?

KFI is 19th. KNX and KRTH are tied for 31st.

Old news, LA stations always show up in San Diego books.
However, I think it's a real gas when San Diego stations come in behind LA stations.

The ones below KFI are XEPRS (tie), KFMB Fm, KPRI, XLTN, XHOCL, KSDO AM KSCF, XHFG, XHGLX, KCBQ and KLYY. Then come KRTH and KNX and that is it.

Hi, David, did you happen to list those stations in the correct order? In other words, KCBQ is running next to last? So that incendiary delusional format seems to have worn a bit thin perhaps.

Yeah, they are in order.

KFI is CCU's 8th station in the market. That is one of the reason for the loss of XETRA-AM.

And XETRA has not shown up for a year in SD or LA or Tijuana ratings. It may be one of the Southland's most expensive to run stations, too.

Too bad the Fabulous 690 music format went away. It was the best. I'm hearing it may resurface. Any thoughts? For now the music is streaming at martiniinthemorning.com

Hi, amlover, do you mean it might resurface at 690? That would indeed be Great? Or anywhere else on the dial except 1360.

This is an example of what I have always argued about the corporate takeover of radio. THEY decide what listeners are wanting, rather than taking into account what the listeners might really want. They decided that they wanted to beam in a weird talk hybrid in a foreign language and then they disappear in the ether of the ratings...the very thing agencies look at when buying advertising on behalf of their clients.

No, it is NOT comming back and not on 690. There is no rumor, other than the one posted on this board. And even if there was, it is only that.

What a waste of such a great signal.
