KWAP-LP 97.5

The station has a black gospel format in theory. In reality, the station was a jukebox of gospel music with little to no ID's whatsoever. These days I often hear dead air on that frequency, and all it does is cause interference to the two classic rock stations that would normally cover my area on 97.5: WDLJ Breeze, IL and WBBA Pittsfield, IL. If a station is going to serve an area and an audience, fine--but at least do something.

First, it doesn't cause interference. The FCC licenses stations as there are very strict rules on separation that must be met before a license is allowed. If it caused interference, it would never have been licensed.

Why isn't playing constant gospel music serving an audience? Dead air isn't good and serves nobody. Actually most LPFMs operate on under $5,000 a year...some on much less. Equipment issues can easily eat through that.
