KVGQ MOVES TO CLASSIC HIP HOP

"Kemp Communications has flipped 90s/2000s Hits “106.9 Da Bomb” KVGQ Overton/Las Vegas NV to Classic Hip Hop."

Rimshot stations are tough to get ratings. You are within site of one of America's fastest growing markets. But your signal only covers part of Las Vegas.

Are the people of Las Vegas looking for Classic Hip Hop? Wouldn't Rhythmic AC like KTWV be better since Las Vegas has many more Hispanics than African-Americans? Vegas does have a Rhythmic station, Audacy's 100.5 KXQQ. It's listed as Rhythmic AC but that is much more contemporary. Only a few songs per hour before 2000 and none before 1990. Not much cross over either.

There are three stations that play classic hip hop in Vegas. At least 105.7 moved back towards classic R&B since 106.9 became classic hip hop.
