KCEE sold

Looks like the new owners have already taken over KCEE-690 and the programming selected by Calvary Chapel is (who would have guessed?) religion. 690 was the only station that Doug Martin's Good News Broadcasting owned that didn't program religion or political talk from the far right. For the last several years it programmed a format that I call "1950s non-rock". Featured artists included Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Patti Page, Perry Como and the like. This particular music library came from Jim Slone and it was used on 1030 before Slone sold the 1030 station to Martin. When it was on the more powerful 1030 the station had the second highest ratings of any AM station in Tucson. KCEE on 690 is licensed for only 3 watts at night. Selling price was $150,000. More religion and more Spanish--just what we need!

That music library probably had seen time back in the days of KAIR back in the 1960's with Frank Kalil - when they were currents! Hehehe!

Just what is it that you consider the "far right"? Alex Jones? Or Rush & Hannity?

Plus Savage, Levin, Beck and the whole crew from Salem. You've heard one and you've heard 'em all. Trump's da man, we all need guns, abortion is murder, Jesus loves Republicans, need to put more people in prison for longer terms. Wave more and bigger flags. Keep the Mexicans out.
