The playlist on Jack-FM is certainly… interesting. I’ve heard songs like “California Love” by Tupac and “In Da Club” by 50 Cent on this station this past week. Not to mention, other strange choices (like Lorde, Linkin Park, Maroon 5, Eminem, and even Jay-Z). Is this what a listener of classic hits really wants to hear? I’m on the other side of the age spectrum, but these are certainly not songs that I want to hear on a classic hits station. In fact, some of these song choices are bold for any Jack FM outlet. I suppose if you’re not listening to 96.9, you’re probably listening to Rock 101, which is more of a classic rock/classic hits hybrid at this point.
It seems like other markets in Canada have a bit better selection on the radio dial. In Toronto, you’ve got Q107 for classic rock and Boom 97.3 for classic hits. I’m surprised that Vancouver can’t have something similar.
