Is it too obvious? Clear Channel should sacrifice one station to kill three GM stations

If Clear Channel would switch either Q, Jazz or Sunny to a full time Modern Rocker, they would kill the buzz Lesser Medium has now. What is stopping them?

CC's lowest rated FM is garnering a 3.0 12+. And is no doubt doing much better in its primary demographics. All of their stations are positioned not to be dominant 12+, but to focus on certain demos.

Modern Rock will fill a small niche in Males 18-34, however it would face an uphill battle against YSP and MMR. And it wouldn't bill anywhere as well as any of the stations you mentioned.

If CC were to flip one of their existing stations in the current marketplace it would be for Spanish programming of some sort.
______________

The fact that Sunny & WJJZ are more attractive demo wise than rock. Rock is becoming like oldies - niche programming...
______________
