I don't know if you even check here any more, but your site has become EXTREMELY biased since you guys got signed to Sirius. I am not saying it shouldn't. That is what you should spend all your time on. BUT - It is just misrepresenting a site that I used to trust for info on what I hope to be a growing format. Posting the paragragh on Stern's "suspension" is a little far. You usually give us inside stuff, a story made up by Howard 100 is NOT news/info. Just because the AP picked it up doesn't make it true. And here's the thing - You know the true story and should be touting the fact that Stern, in his genius, got a publicity stunt publicized by the AP as news. I respect you. I respect Stern. The stut was brilliant AND it worked. I was just hoping to get the real story on your site.

So, since you know the real story, tell us! I happen to be both a Stern and O&A fan as well as an out of work talk show host. If you know the truth, don't badger Lou, tell us if you know something. I'd like to hear what you think it the real "truth".
______________

Since I'm a moderator of this board, yes, I do check here.

I still provide information about new affiliates for the various shows when applicable, though I admit that I'm behind on getting some of the pages up to speed. Yes, the site is going to lean toward Bubba/Stern, but as it is I debated about even keeping the site going since I have a vested interest in the crew I work for, and I wouldn't want to show any errant sign of disloyalty.

Note that I posted about the rumor (from DCRTV) about Don & Mike possibly going to XM, and I did so without denegrating the talent at XM. I'm going to try to keep things positive on the site, with a few exceptions.

Here's the thing: Howard 100 News didn't make up the story. Stern really was suspended for one day. It just so happened that Howard 100 News was the first outlet to report it.

I was one of the first people to find out about the suspension on Monday, and I saw it play out all day, spreading slowly, which was quite interesting since for years I was used to seeing news from the other side as a news producer in TV, and for me seeing it spread was the most interesting part of it all.

Divulging inside dirt would put me in a position of giving up confidential information, and I'm not going to do that. There are things that I know with my job that I can't talk about, either here or on there, much like many other people on here. It's a conflict of interest, but my job and my loyalty to the BTLS show and Sirius come first. But in this case, it'd be more of how I found out and the circumstances surrounding that, which is confidential.

But, unless I'm forgetting something, I've never put anything on the RadioHotTalk.com page as a "work" (to use a pro wrestling term) to knowingly forward a fake storyline or a falsehood.

Fact: Stern was suspended for a day by Infinity. Fact: that suspension ended up making international news (due to the high interest in Stern), and as a result it gained Stern, Howard 100 and Sirius an untold amount of free publicity. If there really is another story here, then it's something that I don't know about.

Hey, Mich. While fan may be a little strong, I am a supporter of you and Bryan and check your site often. I hope you guys get a gig somewhere soon.

I admit, "truth" may have been a little strong, but it sure seems to fit.

It is pretty common knowledge that a lot of times when DJs and show hosts have a vacation or day off, they will try to "stir up controversy" and get "suspended" by their pd. It is a way to get milage and publicity out of even the days when they aren't on the air. The only difference with this instance is that Infinity probably wasn't in on it. Stern took the day off and told the world through his own "newsletter" that he got suspended and everyone believes him, even though Infinity won't confirm. Smells a little fishy to me.

Thanks for the good words. I was just having a little fun. I know how the radio game is played, and since I am currently not playing, this was my way working through a little boredom. I think that was a run-on sentence. At least I still have my job as a wine specialist instead of teaching English.
______________

Right on. Is there any way to keep SID from cluttering up your message board? Granted, I am really just a voyer there, but he does make me limp with all the inane rantings...

You want me to silence this guy?:

Plus, if you can read through his inane ramblings on the board, the guy is really smart. Smart and insane go hand in hand. Plus, his mother is in radio. He knows more than most on this board. I just can't give up his real identity. We call him Sid because, the first time he visited the show, he was wearing a work shirt with the name "Sid" and it just fit him. We just call him Sid the Loser. The back story is too much to go through, but it just works for him. He is a great guy at heart.
______________

Fair enough

Gotcha. I guess it is one of those things you just have to know going into it.
