It took the advent of satellite radio for the industry to begin to wake up, but now despite serious initial limitations w/ the technology, some really inventive formats are being introduced via HD-2.

Let the technology flow. One day all cars will probably be equipped to take HD, Sat and Net radio. Anyone badmouthing this technology isn't thinking in a forward manner.
Edited by saladdressing on 01/21/06 05:02 AM.

So Jukeboxes are innovative programming now? Isn't that 99 percent of these HD2 formats? And Shorter range signals than their analog brothers means Radio is moving forward to compete against Satellite??

99.9 % of all internet-only streams are jukeboxes under this definition. HD2 is a new technology bringing more diversity. The more choices the better. Everyone has been complaining about lack of diversity on the dials for 10 years, now with sat, net and hd2 coming there is more diversity than ever before and it will only get better and better from here trust me! :) Might as well embrace diversity in all its forms rather than point out obvious shortcomings (which every technology has btw).

And what do you call the Jockless or Voicetrack Channels on Sirius or XM ? :) I think these HD-2 Formats are a good choice even if they are jockless.. It's something new! and its a new Choice! I rather have 5 new choices than zero.
