My understanding is that the Rays now own their network and buy time on all the stations they are on. Since WHNZ upraded to 25kw a couple years ago, their signal is actually better than 1450's in most of Sarasota, except downtown. WSRQ's transmitter is still out at city island at the old studios if I recall.
Speaking of the old studios, they are in such disrepair that someone should remove the signs of the stations that were once there.
