DETROIT GETS DAVE KOZ IN AFTERNOONS

Enjoy your local jocks while you can. The BA Network is sniffing out big market affiliates. Washington, D.C., Philly and more on the way. Panicked general managers are going on the cheap and the network is the financial lifeline and they know it. Look to lose more great local talent this year. Detroit has a lot that the network can pick off. GMs don't know the music and neither do some of their PDs. Flipping to the bird is the only way out for a dead format. Get ready for a soft urban AC mix and look for the "jazz" word to go away sometime soon.

Don't forget that now Ryan Seacrest's show will be scoped down and available daily for stations that want to plug him into middays and PM Drive. Radio has gotten rid of it's farm team in favor of recorded celebrities. The local flavor is almost completely gone.
