(D)KDKD 1280 AM

They decided to close it last year, but still have KDKD FM 95.3.

I recall KDKD from Boy Scout's camp about 1968. At about 3 the station went top 40 and almost no commercials before going back to MOR and heavy news emphasis at 5. It was the only place for top 40 on the dial.

The station changed hands and at one point was Christian.

Clinton is certainly big enough to support the FM. I guess they turned in the AM versus selling it and possibly having a competitor.

The AM probably would have gone talk radio I imagine, if not turned in.
To be honest, the FM sounds funny, it's country, but the low quality feed to the transmitter site combined with the big city compression/loudness adds undesired effects to the audio.
