Could 106.7 Out-Fox 97.1 By Moving Sports To FM?

In today's blog in which Gregg Henson predicts CBS will shift its sports format from 1270 AM to 97.1 FM (as being discussed in another thread here), he also didn't rule out the possibility of Clear Channel moving its sports powerhouse, The Fan, from 1130 AM to 106.7 FM, which most recently went country as The Fox:

Gregg's thoughts:

Moving the Sports Station to 97.1 would be a nice move, however, radio regulars in Detroit are skeptical that WXYT talent is strong enough to pull the train on FM having never beaten Stoney and Wojo head-to-head.

Don't be surprised if 106.7 goes sports before 97.1 as they have better talent and overall programming on WDFN. I begged my old company to move WDFN to FM back when 106.7 went to the Alice format, but they were having none of it as WDFN was making WAY too much money to screw with it, WXYT doesn't have that problem, they aren't making a dime.
