Blackhawks/Bulls/White Sox to leave NBC Sports Chicago

Never trust Jerry Reinsdorf. The Sox were literally 3 minutes from moving to St. Petersburg in 1987. Were it not for Gov. Jim Thompson, they would have been gone.

And that wasn't the first time. They were headed for Milwaukee in 1969, Seattle in 1975, and Denver in 1980.
Tampa Bay has a Team. Nashville best bet is Expansion.

Tampa Bay was an expansion team, after the Sox and Giants got new ballparks.
MLB has had the belief for a long, long time that Florida is this huge market for its product, based, I guess, on the strength of the state's high school and college baseball programs and the fact that a bunch of MLB teams hold spring training there, But neither of its Florida teams has ever been able to attract fans, and winning or losing seems to make no difference. Reinsdorf would have been just as unhappy in Miami as every single one of the Marlins' owners has been so far.

The Rays are in a bad location. The Marlins don’t have people to care about the team.

"— The new Chicago RSN outfit that will air White Sox, Blackhawks, and Bulls games beginning in October will receive its content through Stadium, contrary to reports last week that suggested otherwise. The company will still be launched by Standard Media Group, who will handle distribution, but content will be provided by Stadium, the network purchased by Bulls and White Sox owner Jerry Reinsdorf in 2023. (Chicago Sun-Times, 5.9)"
