Bill Hayes, Days Of Our Lives legend, dead at 98

He and his both on and off screen wife Susan Seaforth Hayes have been starring on Days since 1970. He had a great scene several months back singing a duet with 97 year old Dick Van Dyke. The show tapes 6 months in advance, so don't know if how many, if any, future scenes there will be

And, of course, singer of the 1955 novelty hit, "The Ballad Of Davy Crockett."
Here, 92 year old Bill is in the audience at the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. Jimmy has no clue who he is.

You’d think (hope) someone from Kimmel’s staff would pass him a note letting him know Bill Hayes had been on that network’s DOOL for almost 50 years when this was recorded.

I wouldn't expect him to know of many soap opera actors, wrong demographic. All I can think is that the audience member who introduced Hayes went rogue and mentioned him without telling anyone beforehand that he planned to.
