All-News Scoreboard for Major Markets: March 2015

The winter weather advantage for All-News stations outside the Sunbelt wore off a bit in March, although many All-News stations continued to see high ratings. WBBM Chicago, KCBS San Francisco, WTOP Washington and WWJ Detroit all stayed at #1, with KYW Philadelphia at #2 and WBZ Boston at #3.

BIA/Kelsey released its annual report of the top ten earning stations and four All-News outlets made the list: WTOP (#2), WCBS (#4), WINS (#7 tie) and WBBM (#10). David Eduardo also told us KYW is essentially tied for first place among Philadelphia's highest earning radio stations.

1. New York...WINS #7 ... WCBS #12
2. Los Angeles...KNX #12
3. Chicago...WBBM/WCFS(FM) #1
4. San Francisco...KCBS/KFRC(FM) #1
5. Dallas...KRLD* #13 tie
6. Houston...No All-News station
7. Washington...WTOP(FM) #1 ... WNEW-FM* #20
8. Philadelphia...KYW #2
9. Atlanta...No All-News station
10. Boston...WBZ* #3
(11. Detroit...WWJ #1)
(13. Seattle...KOMO-AM-FM #20)
(25. Pittsburgh...KQV* does not subscribe)

* part-time All-News station

All stations are owned by CBS except WTOP (Hubbard), KOMO (Sinclair) and KQV (Calvary). In parenthesis, I include the ratings for the three All-News stations outside the top 10 markets.

A very good month for this format and weather was not the factor it was in February. Clearly, a significant number of people still know where the AM button on their radio is.

Thanks for pulling this list together.
