All Beatles?

Since There Is An All Elvis Channel ... Why Not An All Beatles One?

Not Just The Fab Four Together But The Solo Stuff From them Too.

There Would Be Tons Of Stuff To Play!

There Are Like 35 Beatles Albums Including The Anthology Ones And The

Collections Like "Love Songs" And The Red And Blue Greatest Hits Albums.

McCartney Has About 25. Lennon About 20.

Harrison Had About 12 Albums. Ringo Even Has About 15!

I Think An All Beatles Channel Would Be Great!

I concur, it was the first thought I had when I saw the all-Elvis Sirius channel. Throw in the remakes of Beatles' songs by other artists, and the station could go for weeks without a repeat.
______________

All Beatles seems to be a favorite format for radio stations that are changing format. They will go "All Beatles" for a couple of weeks to get attention and then launch their new format. Called "Stunting" it's happened a couple of times that I recall in the Dallas-Ft. Worth market. At first, it's a lot of fun, but it gets very boring very quickly.

Re: All Beatles? No Chumba Wamba

All Chumba Wumba. Yes. Or better still, all Wang Chung.

Actually, it would be tough to go 24 hours without a repeat. All of the Beatles' original material, including usable alternate takes and previously unreleased stuff in the Anthologies, equals about 13 hours of unrepeated music. The post-Beatle material ranges from very good to poor, so not all of it can be played, and not all at once because McCartney did the lion's share of it and it wouldn't sound balanced on the air. So maybe you can get 7 or 8 usable hours out of the solo albums at any one time. How many covers do you want to play in the mix? Certainly no more than one out of every three songs on the station -- so that gives you maybe six or seven more hours of music ==== 27 hours of available music and that includes repeating EVERY full-band Beatles song EVERY DAY! The math doesn't lie.
The burn factor for listeners would be FAST.

But Just How Much Elvis Can You Listen To?

You could add all Beatle interviews, press conferences & recollections. Add music on every song any menber of the Beatles played on or assisted with. You could create "A Day in the Life" a Beatle audio calandar and add the sizeable published material on the Beatles in audio form. The you could add interviews on all musicians that credit the Beatles for their inspiration - several thousand perhaps. Then Beatle memories from fans - a dozen million maybe. You might make a real good dent with some of that.

I was going to say that.

I guess it comes down to the ol' Beatles people vs. Elvis people thing again, doesn't it? How come the Parrotheads even have a station and Beatles fans don't? Bah, I say! I'd even listen to Yoko if they played her.

I'm serious.
______________

We would also need to include and The Rutles and of course, Beatle Country.

Who, when, and where:

You'd Have To Include Dirk, Stig, Nasty and Barry!

Yes The Rutles! ... A Legend That Would Last A Lunchtime.
