A great song but...

Is Bloodhound gang's new song "Farting with a walkman on" is getting any radio play?

I love the song. Very catchy sound to it, but...the lyrics?

"I know you're gonna blame me when you get wind" is ok, but then it goes on to include "But if you cover your A** with the same old song...you might as well be farting...farting with a walkman on..."

Just wondering.

Not sure if it's getting any airplay. I know they went to radio with "No Hard Feelings" and "Foxtrot Uniform Charlie Kilo", and neither really took off. Isn't the song only about 1:30 long? That may keep it from getting a push at radio.

Farting with a walkman on is 3:27 long. Great song...but the lyrics must have upset the censors. lol
______________

I think it's a great song.
Catchy tune indeed.
It would be both very sad and wrong if radio were to ruin the song by replacing the word farting with the sound effect of a fart in a morning or afternoon drive show.(or ANY time for that matter.)
I like the song the way it is. I say it deserves a spin.
Wether it should be lite or heavy rotation is another story though.

Since when is The Bloodhound Gang "Classic Rock"??

I do not like Bloodhound Gang because frankly I dont like sarcasm and comedy in music. Especially when the comedy is sophomoric. Are we in third grade? The same thing applies to the Barenaked Ladies. Music for me has to be deep and meaningful.

Also responding to the other poster Bloodhound Gang is far from classic rock.

I like depth in music as much as the next person, but me personally - I'll take comedy rock over the meaningless, prosaic, banal tripe proffered by the likes of 3 Doors Down, Nickelback and Puddle Of Mudd.

Still, none of this changes the fact that a thread discussing "The Bloodhound Gang" belongs on the Urban/Urban AC board, not on the Rock/Classic Rock board.

This is a Rock/Classic rock board, not just classic rock, but thanks for listening to the actual song. Your opinion on what type of music "Farting with a walkman on" fist into is highly respected, but it still sounds like rock to me.

What a Bloodhound gang cd sounds like, respectfully, may or may not be another story.

I posted on this board based STRICTLY on how the song sounds, not what board the cd should belong with.

The song still sounds ok. Good novelity song, I guess.
______________

Urban? To my knowledge, Bloodhound Gang have never had any hits on the Urban format. Their best known songs are probably "Fire Water Burn" and "The Bad Touch", both of which charted on Modern Rock, with the latter having crossover success on CHR. Perhaps, then, this is better suited for discussion on the Alternative board, because I don't think the band has ever received Rock or Active Rock airplay.
