What is the story on WSHE ? I heard it was started by a college student who later fell Ill and passed away. If this is true what is WSRF's connection to this. Thanks

Wise guy, huh?

My understanding of that term would be putting
the same thing on multiple regional boards
where it isn't relevant, like that guy
did a couple of months ago. (And I suggested
he post on OffTheAir instead and that's when
he got bounced. Sorry!)

The key word is inappropriate. Posting about
WSRF isn't inappropriate on the Miami board.
Posting about XERF would be inappropriate.

This is a cross-reference, as it is known
in the writing biz.

If I'm wrong, please explain why.

I never heard of that. Here's what I do know.

WSHE-FM was the former WSRF-FM. They were WWIL
(AM & FM, too, I think) before that, in the 60s,
when I first heard them.

After WSHE, 103.5 was most recently WMGE (disco),
and now WMIB (urban). I don't remember what
it was between WSHE and WMGE. (I'm tired.)

WSHE bumper stickers were legendary and
ubiquitous: "She's only rock & roll"

WSRF (and I think WSHE) was in a trailer
park in Davie for years. In the 70s I
lived a block away from the park. I think
WAVS is there now.

It's owned by CC.

That's all I know.

Since WSHE, it's been WPLL (The Planet 103-5), WMGE and WMIB.

WPLL, The Planet! That's the one I couldn't remember.

I even have their blue and green T-Shirt.

Last night all I could think of is, it has "L" in it!

Thank you.

WSHE came on the air in 72 (?) to compete with the Magic Bus 93.9,WBUS. Gary Granger was the PD. The station was owned by Geno and Jackie Milner. Tommy Judge (one of the Milners) was also involved. Lots of jocks went though WSHE when the Milners owned it. Rick Peters did mornings with Buzz Kilman news, Scott Christy was middays. God can't remember who did afternoons (show prep used to be rolled up on Pink Floyd LPs). "Johnathan" did nights. Then, Zeta came on the air, took Christy and Peters from She. Eventually, John Tenaglia brought the station. Eventually, Peters went back to WSHE, but off the air as VP/Programming, Michael Dalfonzo, Randy Thomas, Herman and McBean, Castronovo, Sonny Fox, Skip Herman, etc..all went through it. BTW, Steve Dinetz of Chancellor/Capstar (and now Nextmedia) was the Senior VP, Chuck Bortnick (now running Metro), Rick Peters, VP Programming and now COO of Bluewater Broadcasting, were all in management during the Tenaglia years. WSRF was the Rock Hit AM station. Used to sell them as Surf and She. Was a wild place to work...at the back of the trailer park. Engineer used to pick mushrooms out of the cowshit around the towers. Oh, those were the days.
