As of now WCHR is running independent of WBYN, so if someone tuned to 1040 expecting the same lineup they'd be disappointed. WCHR is more of a traditional block-programmed preaching & teaching station as it has been since Nassau moved it from 94.5 to 920 to 1040. Listening to WBYN on the webcast tonight it seems there are no changes from the format of the past few weeks, the satellite fed Praise music and the talk shows, just all the 107.5 references are gone. Changing 1040 would also alienate their longtime listeners. Guess they will just be "sisters", not simulcast partners, meaning in much of the 107.5 coverage area the only way to listen is online. Meaning soon most listeners outside the 1160 area will forget them and move on. As will all those sponsors in Telford, Souderton, etc. I would assume they'd drop the traffic for the Philadelphia area, too.

This should really help "The Word FM" stations in their areas and WBMR in Telford pick up new listeners.

WBYN-FM was unique. It had music and message. Both well presented. Professionally done I thought. A commercial Christian station.

WBYO and it's network are different. Also well done, but different. A rock station for Christians. No significant Christian ed. programming with the exception of Skip Heitzig weekdays at 1:00.

WBMR is not a factor. No signal strength and too many stations too close together on 91.7

While I realize this thread is quite old, I cannot help but to chime in to quick update it...

Thankfully, Positively Different 107.5 Alive (WBYN-FM) returned to FM radio on April 1st 2009, and their fan base is returning. Broadcasting from their original offices, where it all began (back in their WBYO - 107.5 MC days, when they were "only" 20,000 Watts).

While now broadcasting locally, on the FM dial at 50,000 watts (Maximum Power, in The State of Pennsylvania, as per The FCC), Positively Different 107.5 Alive (WBYN-FM) now also streams worldwide, online at: www.1075alive.com
