NASCAR Driver Ted Christopher dies in Plane Crash

I've flown in many small planes but never with an 81-year old pilot.
 
while he wasn't a big name in say the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series or Xfinity Series (formerly the Busch Series and the Nationwide Series) and the Camping World Trucks Series, but he did leave a huge mark on the Whelen Modified Tour regional series where he won several races and the 2008 Whelen Modified Tour Series champion.

he also raced in 6 Cup races in a period between 1999-2006, 21 races in the Xfinity Series back when it was the Busch Series from 1996-2001, and raced in a Camping World Truck Series race in 1997 and again in 1999. he also raced in the 2006 and 2008 24 Hours of Daytona races.

my thoughts and prayers and condolences goes out to his family.
