Troy Gentry, one half of Kentucky-based country music duo Montgomery Gentry, has died. He was 50.
Gentry is one of two victims in a fatal helicopter crash on Friday near a small New Jersey airport. The band had been scheduled to perform at the Flying W Airport & Resort in Medford that night.
The band’s official Twitter page confirmed his death, stating that “details of the crash are unknown.”
“Troy Gentry’s family wishes to acknowledge all the kind thoughts and prayers, and asks for privacy at this time,” the tweet continued.
