KPHX Sells For 1/10 Of KNAI's Translator

YIKES!

KPHX is sold for $100k to Colorado based Bible thumper Cedar Cove Broadcasting. Cesar Chavez Foundation pays $1.1m for Riviera's silent 101~Nine translator.

YIKES, again!

Now the fine print on 14~Eighty's deal...no land, no studios...just equipment. Guess who's moving to another xmttr site? Plus the Seller pays for an appraisal to obtain a charitable contribution credit. Some cash for the license, a lot of cash for the real estate, plus a tax write off to use against gains. As is the case of more and more Ancient Modulation stations, it's all about the land!

As far as K270BZ 101~Nine goes, a pretty simple deal. Weird pattern on this translator, plus the claimed interference problems with KWSS. This is now the second translator in the market to sell for over $1m! CCF is into 8~Sixty and 101~Nine for over $1.7m. So what becomes of their 1/2 interest in non-comm 88~Three? hmmmm....vamos a ver!

Cedar Cove...with Vic Michael involved, this station has a much higher chance of losing its callsign or going dark. Nothing they do ever makes sense. Cedar Cove also owns KAZK in Willcox and KRKY in Douglas, Wyoming.

I should note that Vic Michael also holds a tiny ownership interest in KZLZ.
