Regarding the Lakers-Nuggets game: I looked it up, and as I suspected, that was part of the West finals (Game 1, actually), back during the era when the whole season was usually done by Memorial Day or thereabouts.

Star Search, Hee Haw, Hunter, Mike Hammer, Airwolf, the Tigers in a nationally televised game!

Man, this was a great day to be watching TV!

Out of market paper, he posted what was in that paper. Augmentation is welcome if you have a source.

The Royals won the World Series in 1985. I'm sure Royals broadcasts became a big deal as the season went on.

Wasn't the Yankees-Royals game delayed by rain? if so, then the NBC stations carried the Pirates-Dodgers game until play started in KC.

As far as Solid Gold, it was likely bumped in some markets if it was an NBC station by the Pirates-Dodgers game as it went 12 innings, and lasted 3 hours and 49 minutes.

St. Joseph at this time was basically a sub-market of KC (with separate ABC but had the rest of KC's stations; today, I think they only get PBS and TBN from KC)

It looks like KQTV and WIBW aired different episodes of Solid Gold at the same time.

Also, Saturday Night's Main Event was programming from the then-WWF that aired instead of SNL repeats.

I used to watch Saturday Night's Main Event a lot back then. But there was one time when SNME and American Gladiators were on at the same time. SNME on WYFF/4 Greenville at 11:30 and AG on WLOS/13 Asheville at midnight. I went with AG, because i wasn't a big fan of the WWF at that time.
