KWWJ 96.9 Translator is On The Air

Heard the new KWWJ translator on 96.9 for the first time this afternoon. They were welcoming listeners tuned to "Gospel Ninety-six-Nine." Good audio quality. 50 watts at 199 meters from a site near the Med Center. Directional signal supressed to the NE (KTHT.)

This will eat into KXBJ in the south side of the market, though KSBJ still has the better signal on 89.3.

Crowded part of the FM band with stations on 96.9, 97.1, 97.3 and 97.5.
