Miami - Fort Lauderdale Radio (July 2017 - Analog and HD Radio)

I live in South Florida so I wanted to bring an update to the market, telling you what stations are available and any HD Radio channels, if applied to.

Noted on July 14th, 2017 from 1:00-4:17 a.m. ET using my brand new SPARC SHD-TX2 Portable HD Radio (spent a lot of time due to trying to confirm formats or brandings or just catching good music at the time I stopped on a particular station.)

640 - WMEN: Sportsradio 640 The Hurricane (FOX Sports Radio; barely heard since its a WPB station)

770 - WJBX: WJBX News Talk (News/Talk; barely heard since its a SWFL station - I was actually able to pick this signal up but barely)

850 - WFTL: 850 WFTL (News/Talk; not a extremely clear signal since its a WPB station but because it can be heard through Broward, its clear enough that I heard it)

990 - WMYM: ESPN Deportes 990 (Spanish Sports)

107.1 - WURN: Exitos 107.1 (Spanish Pop; Keys station so signal is bad)
107.5 - WAMR: 107.5 Amor (Spanish Contemporary and Tropical)

So that's pretty much about it. Take a good look at this list and enjoy it! If there are any questions, let me know.

but you would only hear the ones near your "listening post".

There is a reason why this station is called Mix 98.3!

1580 .Fort Lauderdale WSRF.Not sure if the calls are still being used. Brokered Ethnic. Best use of HD signals are 105.1 and 101.5 with their soft AC almost oldies format. Using the life imaging it sounds like a religious station .
It would be nice to have a Classic Country and Standards format on the HD dial.Standards especially because of the sheer number of older people in South Fla..

And whoops! My bad. It is 98.3, not 98.1. Shows you how much I don't listen to the Spanish stations.

Cuban reggaeton, not Cuban Hip Hop. Reggaeton is not Hip Hop in Spanish; it's a derivative of a Jamaican riddim with a salsa influence.



98.3 and the format is Spanish language CHR. It's not "Tropical".



Format is Salsa and Colombian music (not "Spanish")



Format is Spanish language CHR (Tu, Mix and Zol are, in effect, all the same format with different nuances).

Thanks for explaining it because again, I don't listen to the Spanish stations so I just listed whatever Wikipedia told me.

BTW...I had an early Sparc when they were branded
as the Insignia (something like) Narrator
A great radio, I should have kept it.

Wow thanks for the great list. Sadly only about 4 that I would ever consider listening to out of all those stations. Makes XM or the songs on my iPhone must haves in the the car!

I hope that this list encourages other listeners who have an HD Radio to compile a list for their area. I'm curious myself!
