This was the day Whew! premiered at 10:30 ET on CBS and The Price Is Right moved to 11 AM ET, where it's been ever since. Love Of Life got displaced to 4 PM ET. The listings here don't reflect this.

It looks like the paper wasn't constantly updated. I'll post another schedule from May 1979 where Whew! is listed.

Yes, the newspapers were a bit behind on things like that. Ours (the Atlanta Journal) was a week behind on a change that took place here in 1975.

Less than a month and a half later (on 6/1/79), WRTV and WTHR swapped networks.

I'm surprised that WTTV didn't have a stronger prime time lineup. Jokers Wild aired at 7PM or thereabouts in most other markets.

From the late 1960s continuing into the early 1980s, game shows in prime time were a staple at WTTV. They were also the Indpls affiliate for Merv Griffin airing at 9p weeknights. (Obvious exception is the Griffin CBS years when WTTV aired David Frost at 9p.) In March 1978, Griffin moved to afternoons at WRTV/6. In August 1982, WTTV/4 dropped the games for a nightly prime time movie.

I had a TV Guide from 1979, that showed WISH-TV airing Love of Life at 3:30pm and bumping One Day at a Time reruns to 4pm. This schedule would have made more sense by CBS nationally. Even their owned stations chose to air Love of Life at Noon ET or 2:30pm CT after Guiding Light.

Since this was the first day of Whew! and with that TBA at 3:30, I'm thinking Match Game ran on a one-day (or more) delay at 9:00 to pair it with another game show (reruns of Narz's Concentration) instead of at 4:00. With Love of Life moving to 4:00 nationally, perhaps WISH had to wait a day to put that show on a one-day delay at 3:30, and, hence, the TBA at 3:30.
