Goodwin Fire Updates

From here in Prescott, we cans see huge plumes of smoke to the southeast
as the winds blow relentlessly. I turned on KAHM while cleaning my car
to find that Highway 69 is closed and that parts of Mayer, AZ are under
mandatory evacuation. KAHM, KYCA AM and FM, as well as other stations
here are breaking into regular programming to constantly update us as
to the latest conditions. They have had reports directly from Yavapai
Central Fire and other agencies. It is times like this that even in a small
town like Prescott, I am grateful and thankful for radio.... Lets pray for
those in harms way and for the heroic firefighters.....

Serious question:

Is KKFR, licensed to Mayer, giving any updates?

Yeah, I know, they're programming to Phoenix, but if my city of license was under mandatory evacuation, I would have my jocks talk about it.

That'd be an interesting thing to confront the licensee with come renewal time. "Your COL is under mandatory evacuation but you're literally broadcasting the other way!"

I listened to KKFR for over an hour. There was a brief news segment but no
fire updates or news...... In contrast, Yavapai Broadcasting stations are
updating at least every 30 minutes and sometimes even more when there
are new evacuations..... The same goes for KAHM and KYCA.
