Moving translator on 102.5

Someone posted once, if AMAZING 102.5 could upgrade to a stronger signal and everyone said no. But how can LATINO BROADCASTING get a translator on 102.5 right next to AMAZING to the right? And didn't Aleluya get a Translator to the left of Amazing?
LPFMs have different protection parameters than full build FMs and translators. The maximum parameter for an LPFM is 100 watts at 30 meters above average terrain (or equivalent). It roughly translates to about ~5 km protected contour. So an LPFM can operate above 30 meter, but they must reduce their power in order to stay equivalent of 100w @ 30 HAAT. This is why KMAZ is operating with 1 watt of ERP.

Looks they got approved to move closer to houston. Anyone on the west side that can pick it up? What is it airing?

Drove to Livingston to run an errand, tuned in to 102.5 and it was playing country music. Just tuned like for 5 seconds so didn't get to listen much. Also tuned in to KLNY 91.1 that one had good signal.

Can someone report both translators on bothe sides of Amazing 102.5? I'm pretty sure they are or will interfere with KMAZ .

In the radio pecking order an LPFM is a bottom feeder. They have to accept any interference received. While the Amazing 102 has great coverage due to their height, their coverage in the eyes of the FCC is limited to the equivalent of 100 watts or less at 100 feet. In short, they are protected a couple miles outside downtown. Any interference outside that small area is just something they have to accept.

K237AL is simulcasting LA MEJOR on 102.5 covering parts of northern Houston from 45 north and Rankin to parts of HUNTSVILLE

That's K273AL. They also filed a notification for temporary circumstances.

"HURRICANE AND TROPICAL STORM HARVEY HIT THE HOUSTON AREA LAST WEEKEND. ON MONDAY, AUGUST 28, 2017, THE STATION WENT OFF THE AIR DUE TO FLOODING IN THE AREA CAUSED BY HURRICANE HARVEY. THE TRANSMITTER SITE IS LOCATED IN A FLOODED AREA. THE TRANSMITTER SITE IS TOTALLY INACCESSIBLE. THE OTHER STATION LOCATED AT THE SITE ALSO IS OFF THE AIR. WE HAVE LEARNED THAT THE POWER IS OUT AT THE TRANSMITTER SITE. EVER SINCE MONDAY WE HAD TRIED TO GET TO THE TOWER SITE BUT ARE NOT EVEN ABLE TO AS THE MAJOR ROADS AND SIDE ROADS ARE FLOODED DUE TO THE RURAL AREA WHERE THE TOWER IS LOCATED. IT IS NOT EXPECTED THAT WE WILL BE ABLE TO GET THE STATION BACK ON THE AIR FROM THAT SITE FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME.

WE HAVE TRIED TO LOOK FOR OTHER TOWERS IN THE AREA. OTHER SITES IN THE IMMEDIATE AREA ARE NOT ACCESSIBLE OR AVAILABLE DUE TO THE SAME SITUATION OF FLOODING.

WE ARE PROPOSING A NEW SITE FOR THE RADIO STATION AS A STA REQUEST BECAUSE OF THE WORKING RELATIONSHIP WE ALREADY HAVE WITH THE MANAGEMENT AT THE BUILDING AT WHICH WE ARE PROPOSING TO OPERATE TO USE AS A TRANSMITTING SITE THAT WOULD ALLOW US TO BE ON THE AIR MUCH MORE QUICKLY THAN TO WAIT AND HOLD ONTO OUR SITUATION. WITH THE FLOODING AND THE DAMAGES, WE STILL NEED TO GO AND ASSESS TO SEE HOW MUCH DAMAGE THE FACILITY HAD. THE SITE WE ARE PROPOSING HAS NOT EXPERIENCED FLOODING AND IS ACCESSIBLE ON AN IMMEDIATE BASIS.

WE UNDERSTAND THAT THE NEW TRANSMITTER SITE WE ARE PROPOSING IS OUTSIDE OUR 60 DBU CONTOUR. NEVERTHELESS, THIS SITE HAS BEEN CHOSEN BECAUSE EVERYTHING AROUND THE LICENSED SITE IS FLOODED. AGAIN, THE SITE WE ARE PROPOSING IN THIS STA REQUEST DID NOT HAVE ANY FLOODING THROUGH THE HURRICANE OR AFTER THE HURRICANE.

AT THIS TIME WE FEEL LIKE MOVING THE STATION TO THE NEW SITE WOULD ALLOW US TO CONTINUE OPERATION AT A MORE ADEQUATE LOCATION DURING THIS EXTRAORDINARY DIFFICULT TIME THE HOUSTON AREA IS EXPERIENCING."

I guess they got it on-air from the new building then?

Please tell me the FCC isn't buying this, are they?

Flooding is gone for the most part.

Is La Mejor still on the 102.5 translator after the flip of 104.5 today?

I was getting something that sounded like either urban Gospel or R&B on 102.5 while scanning the dial on my drive home from work at about 5:30pm today..
