Interestingly, KFI this morning pre-empted an apparent network replay of Leo LaPorte's "Tech Guy" show (because he is on vacation) and replaced him with a local host (who was really good).
I commend KFI for:
1. Noticing that Laporte would be on vacation.
2. Substituting live content instead.
Most stations these days sound like they're programmed by zombies who couldn't care less about this, much less day-old weather forecasts, expired ad copy, etc. etc.
Does it make a difference? I hope so. KFI's ratings seem to support that compared, for example, with iHeart's NY station WOR.
Who was the guy who use to do another tech show at an LA station a few years ago? I can't remember his name but he was good.
Big Leo fan, and noticed that as well. I know that he pre-recorded a bunch of telephone calls to be played during his absence, and wonder when/if they will use those.
