KFYI Audio

What in the Wide, Wide World of Sports is a goin' on with audio levels on 5~Fifty? Has the Volumax run amok, or the Level Devil tired of the same lineup of aging conservative talkers for the past 20 years? Perhaps I ♥ Debt is trying to reduce costs even further by reducing the power level to the transmitter. Like our many posts, it's annoying!

Certainly by now they've gotten rid of Gary Wachter's homebrew processing rig (including some sweet but subtle reverb) that was put in for the debut of FYI Radio 910.

That reverb was as subtle as a sledgehammer...but it sure made the station "pop" and sound so much more alive than 6~Twenty. It didn't make the transition to 5~Fifty, though.
