1590 Victorville

You have a listening choice with KVTR. 1590, plus 1530 & 1650 kHz. 1530 still in there over 7 miles east of the tower.
First heard 4 1/2 yrs ago, and again, 3 weeks back. Conclusion : 2 burned out traps.
 
More likely there's something awry and generating a 60 KHz spur in the transmitter. I have no idea what they're using, but I've seen similar things happen when capacitors go soft. So maybe substituting "caps" for "traps" and that conclusion would be accurate.

It's an older TX design, powered by 60 KHZ switching P.S. Across the border Tijuana 540, @ 18 miles has a newer-gen TX with a spur on 660, 120 kHz higher.
The windings on the ferrite trap sometimes open up. 5 minutes with a spectrum analyzer would have revealed this issue years ago.
