All Access is reporting that Michael Chase has left WSTR-FM after 16 years. He was APD/Music Director in the Jefferson Pilot/Lincoln Financial days, and Entercom promoted him to Director of Marketing and Promotion. He has also done a lot of air work.
Michael is a really good guy, talented and passionate about radio (and in particular Star 94). I don't know whether or not this was a budget thing, or possibly in anticipation of the Entercom/CBS deal closing (and that's many months away).
You never know in the radio business!
I wish Michael the best and hope he lands somewhere great.
