Wow! These are the same people that own KAPP/KVEW/KXLY in eastern Washington. I guess Saga cares more about their radio stations.

Give MMM credit though for treating KXLY better than KAPP/KVEW.

Television has ceased to be good business for many small operators. The lack of size makes cable rights and fees hard to negotiate, and the industry is rapidly consolidating as distribution methods change.

Absolutely! They treat KAPP/KVEW like the red-headed stepchild of KXLY, only a lot worse. A five minute newscast at 11PM? Pfft, give me a break. Their news set is a GREEN SCREEN! The entire thing! Even the DESK is green in real life! On TV, you see a blurry nighttime view of what I think is the Tri-Cities...but I can't tell what the heck it is. Weekend news is non-existent, ever since the 2008 budget cut that sent weather to Spokane for several years and shut down KAPP's studios in Yakima. They used to be a decent news station competing with KIMA and KNDO (when they were still based here, of course). Now just a shell of its own self, a distant third.
