WBZ Travel Editor Bob Weiss has left the station.

WBZ Travel Editor Bob Weiss, who had a travel segment called "All Things Travel" on WBZ Saturdays and Sundays at 5:55 AM and 1:55 PM, and Mondays at 5:55 AM, left the station about a week ago. He also was editor of Air Travel Journal for many years and wrote on WBZ's website.
 
Who'll be the next to leave? Dan Rea? Kristen Eck? Bradley Jay? Deb Lawlor? Kevin Brennan? Who knows? I'd like to do an Irish show on Saturday afternoon myself.
 
Maybe he left on his own, the guy was not young by any stretch of the imagination. Maybe he wanted to travel beyond East Boston and Brighton.

As for doing Irish Music, WROL has held the Saturday and Sunday listenership in that genre for 50 years now....
 
Since Jordan Rich retired last June there hasn't been much exposure for Bob Weiss. Jordan used to have him on his weekend program on a regular basis. Actually, 'BZ has fallen quite a bit since Jordan retired even though he does a few of those spot drop in's
Yet, Bob and his wife, former advertising executive, Joyce DiBona, may just have wanted to retire. Think he was spending the winter in Florida. Sometimes when you listened to Weiss you had the distinct feeling he was flacking for certain airlines and vocation location and that you were not getting an independent opinion.
