Shepard Out at WDFN

http://www.detroitnews.com/story/sp...ards-firing-leaves-wdfn-irrelevant/101257898/

Here's some commentary from the News on Shepard's firing. At the bottom of the column, it talks about how an Oakland U baseball game to be played at Jimmy John's field was supposed to be televised by ESPN, but the field lacked 'television facilities'. Huh?!? It's a small, minor league ballpark. Did ESPN not research the venue and determine that it would require a full remote likely including a generator? I doubt the small, independent league the United Shore Professional Baseball League needs to make a significant investment to accommodate television. It's unlikely that many, if any, of its games will be covered. No, what needs to happen is ESPN needs to adapt and be prepared to cover smaller venues when the need arises.
