Can the DFW Pull in WTAW 1620AM at Night?

With it being in the 1610-1700AM range and so close to the Shortwave band, I figure 1620AM should reach the Metroplex.

I cannot pull it in here in Victoria. Probably a groundwave vs skywave issue.

We have a station on 1630. It's only 1000w at night, but I suspect it'll cause problems in part of the area.

WTAW wasn't on 1620 when I lived in Dallas. It was still 1150, which you couldn't get for obvious reasons. I got it in Kansas City a few times, but I'd imagine you'd have a tough time getting it in Dallas between 1600 and 1630.

WTAW was an easy catch in McKinney despite KKGM being next door. The easiest Texas X-Bander is hands down 1660 KRZI out of Waco, that station will blow you out of the room at night. KVNS is a close second if you can null KKLF.

I appreciate the information, Kent and Liberty.

1640 out of Biloxi and 1680 KRJO our easy X-Band catches for me in Victoria.
