Desert Broadcasters LLC puts its recently acquired pair of AM stations back on the air with a "wheel of formats" stunt

until Thu. 3/16/17 with the countdown clock on the site indicating that the permanent change will occur at 2 PM PT.

920 returns with syndicated ConTalk though the hosts skew a little younger than the norm. 1340 returns with 'relaxing music.'
 
The "relaxing music" on KWXY is primarily '60s and '70s oldies ("Telstar," "Time in a Bottle," "Free Man in Paris") and Beautiful Music-style instrumentals. Has that format-in-a-closet sound to it, so it probably only needs to cover the electric costs with advertising, assuming it will eventually carry advertising.
