Air Horns and air raid sirens need to be illegal

More important than your listening pleasure might be the crying wolf effect.

I thought you were advocating that cities not have such signals. Not the case. I can see how that would be annoying. They certainly shouldn't be abusing the EBS signal if indeed that was what you were referring to as the 'air raid siren'. The latter, if it was the EBS tones, might be a legitimate basis for a complaint.

Agreed umfan. I was about to be quite upset if the advocation was to silence the air raid sirens currently used for tornado warnings and the like.

I think he's talking about something like this:

For some reason, club DJ's have been giving short blasts of these things during live music mixes on air. Real short, steady bursts of the horn, usually 3 or 4 times in succession. It really doesn't bother me, but then again, I have a 5 trumpet train horn on one of my trucks, and a 3 trumpet on the other one. Loud noises obviously don't bother me, so I can't relate to Marc's issue.

Besides his shows on MEGA 101.7 in Hartford this guy (his name is Richie Ojeda aka DJ Richie Rich) is a club DJ. Anyway. I watched his Facebook Live Video of his show tonite and I saw he has a box connected to the equipment at the Mega 101.7 studios. And he pushes buttons on it to do the "air horn" and "air raid siren" sound FX.

You can watch him do the entire Mega Freestyle Mix Show. They have tonight's show archived or you can watch next week's show live Sunday 7PM-9PM Eastern
