New owner that changes the sound of their purchased stations?

Is that the case anywhere you know of? I know that is the case a lot of times, as the companies make the stations sound like "them." Have any examples?

The classic one certainly was RKO. But it was a popular thing among group owners in the 60s. By the 80s, Metromedia wanted all their FM stations to have a similar sound. These days it goes without saying that some group owners are seeking to create a consistent sound among their stations in certain formats, whether through imaging or song choice.

Not so much as changing the sound... but many will change the imaging to fit a company brand. Like when CBS took over Wired 96.5 and re-imaged it into AMP 96.5.

Or out by Gettysburg PA... Great Country 107.7 was bought by Forever Broadcasting... was kept as Country, but they re-imaged the station to Froggy 107.7. Station was #1 already, but the new company wanted it to match the rest of their portfolio.
