The PD of the Wolf and Hot 103.7 announces he's out the door at the end of the month for a new job TBA.
In case you didn't know Mike's history, early on in his career he was mentored by none other than Michael Scott Shannon at WPLJ.

Not out at the end of this month, out today. There's a big difference which should be read into. This wasn't of Mike's choosing

The Wolf's ratings have been in the toilet for a while. Down about 50% from peak levels in ages 6+ (I have no clue what the A25-54 #'s look like, admittedly). What are the culprits?

I really wonder if something's up at 100.7. I monitor station advertising for KRKO/KKXA, and one of the stations I do is KKWF. Chuck didn't get a report from me for KKWF last month because the only two paid items were sponsored traffic reports, both by Target Zero I think. I wonder if that's a sign of a flip? This would have been the last Friday in July, starting about 4:45 in the afternoon and going until about 6:15. Then again, I find it hard to believe they'd flip the thing when they've just spent a bunch of money on new voices, unless Entercom wants into the CHR game with 100.7. The voices they've got would work well for that format.

If that were the case, I would expect Hubbard to make a run at competitive country format to target KMPS.

You're probably right, but I'm not sure what's going on anymore, as I heard spots Saturday evening. If it was two hours commercial free or something, you would think I'd hear promos for that.

Noticed Entercom's HD2 stations have been off the air for at least a week. I know it's not a big deal in the big picture of radio. Just an observation.

I think you owe it not only to your client but also to this board to do a complete investigation into this and provide a full report.

They run 2-hours commercial free during that time. Tell Chuck you're sorry the report was late and that they aired ZipRecruiter, Lakewood Ford, Ideal Image, O'Reilly, Domino's, Taco Del Mar (yeah, 2 QSR's back-to-back...someone needs to update their WideOrbit competitive codes), Xfinity, Aetna, Car Toys, Jet Chevrolet, WA State Fair, Behar's, Clearwater Casino, and T-Mobile in the 4p hour before they started their comm free block at 4:35.

Then be sure to tell him that he could get MediaMonitors for barter and it will tell you everything that runs on every station. Going out on a limb here, but I'm guessing KRKO might have some unsold inventory they could sacrifice.

Regarding Entercom's HD's, it's not surprising...they just moved buildings, I'm sure setting up the Mountain on the HD2 so 13 people can listen to it isn't at the top of their priorities currently.

Lastly, don't expect any format changes before the Entercom/CBS deal closes around Christmas.

It will be interesting to see how Entercom plans to play musical chairs, considering Entercom will need to spin a pair of FM stations in Seattle. The Seattle-Phoenix swap has been long rumored as a potential swap for Entercom with Bonneville and Hubbard owning stations in both markets. What would be more interesting would be if this becomes a three-way swap or even a four-way swap if Sinclair sells their radio stations. A sale of Sinclair's radio stations could have potential benefits, since Sinclair focuses pretty much on TV properties and would have the potential for either Bonneville or Hubbard to expand their holdings in Seattle in addition to acquiring Entercom's spinoffs, if such a sale comes to fruition. Once dust has settled in Seattle, that's when I'll expect any format flips to take place.

Welcome to the discussion. Here are comments associated with the speculation of if, or whether Sinclair will need, or want to sell their Seattle radio properties: http://www.radiodiscussions.com/sho...clair-or-Tribune-be-forced-to-sell-in-Seattle

They are aware of the services you use. The issue is advertisers that are exclusive to one or two stations may not always be listed. What would be interesting is comparing the data you get from those services to what I get from monitoring unobjectively off the air. I'll PM you a few of my recent reports. I suggest we take this discussion to private messages as it veers significantly from the original topic.
