98.5 KNBQ is now K-Love

Eventually the answer to my question was answered...

98.5 was sold for $1 million.

That's an impressive wad of cash for a brand-new move in and what it can do on paper...in reality, it is probably very complimentary to places in the South Sound with reception issues on 104.5.

Radio-X

It sure is. Maybe bossbill can actually afford to get a newer car now. :)

Hey, easy now... don't make fun of my 1998 Ford Explorer Limited. I'm keeping Exxon and others in business with it!

Can you provide a link? I'm not finding anything that shows that they've filed an application with the FCC.
I am so sorry. I had the wrong EMF station. This one is KWAO 88.1 and they're changing COL from Ocean Park to Vashon as a full Class C. I wonder why they need 98.5.

But is 88.1 staying at Capitol Peak, or moving even closer to Seattle (Cougar or Tiger Mountain?)

KWAO airs EMF's Air One format, so no overlap there.
As to KNBQ 98.5, the signal covers from Federal Way to Chehalis - areas that KLSW 104.5 misses, and also reaches Aberdeen, where 101.3 at Westport has difficulties.

And EMF has a translator in Aberdeen

Given how much they pay for stations, one wonders why EMF would be allowed to plead "hardship" in their filings against LPFM and when requesting main studio waivers. How is that an undue financial burden on a company that can pay so much cash for powerful signals?
