I heart has two feeds for all news NBC News Radio done by iheart staff the setup is top stories in the beginning, entertainment, sports, business, tech and weather before starting their 15 minute cycles.

Associated press radio on Iheart has 10 minute cycles of national and international news with ads at the end before the top stories are repeated.

Slacker's ABC News feed will have top stories made for radio but some segments are clips originally used for ABC World News Tonight and Good Morning America.

CBS Radio News provides national feeds to areas that don't have all news radio like KCBS, KNX, WTOP, WCBS and WBBM. also has original programming not seen on CBS-N and CBSR O&O's all news such as the World News Roundup, and the Weekend roundup.

Newsy a newcomer to all news has a news on demand service for Scripps. Which national all news outlets do you think are the best for national news on radio.

Also, Fox News Headlines 24/7 is on SiriusXM, both on their radios and their app. Each of these products is different and different people will like what they like.

What's interesting to me is that these companies are still interested in spending money on a news radio venture. Either they're spending money producing it (CBS Radio News has at least one person compiling the material and processing into the stream. Scripps has a staff for Newsy), spending money to buy a name brand to put on something already being produced (iHeart/NBC), or spending money on a vendor to produce it (iHeart/AP, SiriusXM/Fox).

Someone must think news radio has some profitability.

In SiriusXM's case, the Fox brand helps sell subscriptions. Lots of folks who drive for a living subscribe, and many are from parts of the country that lean conservative. Having Fox in the truck, be it a TV simulcast or a radio-specific channel, is very appealing.

Prior to 2013 there was ARNN news by TRN it was an all news division for that distributor but was political focused at the time due to the network not airing in large radio markets.

The mostly irritating stories on AOL (yes, still have them for email, I don't want to change my address) have some Newsy content...generally not very impressive. It's a little better than the old AOL "regurgi-news" reports where they'd find some kid fresh out of college to put intros and outros on some TV newsclip.

But there must still be a market for news radio or audio reports...people can't stop what they're doing during the day to look up content. Multitasking makes an audio format
viable.

Does Rare do radio, though? And by "radio" I mean "audio programming" that is not necessarily "on the radio" but delivered through data streams possibly.

Not in the conventional sense, as in a continuous stream of audio. I also find it interesting that Cox owns some huge radio stations, including WSB in Atlanta, and they don't use those radio stations to push people to the Rare site, in the way that Townsquare stations push users to their co-owned news sites.
