The market will decide how much is enough. They will let iHeart know if it made a wise decision through Nielsen.

iHeart is taking a minimal risk here. In his press release, Market President Justin Schaflander said the 96.7 part of the 105.7/96.7 simulcast was generating virtually no audience. The same was true with the 92.3 translator. So why not try something different? Almost all of the station will be syndicated or voice-tracked, and sales, traffic, accounting, etc will be the same people who already work at iHeart. So The Beat is a very low-risk proposition.

Did you know that GA. is one of the easiest states to get on Section 8? They've got Section 8 in Dunwoody, Alpharetta, and Buckhead now. Like Oakland California, Atlanta will be totally Section 8 one day.

One format I haven't heard in the Atlanta market yet is Latino Rap. I've heard it on CD's but not on broadcast. Might not be popular due to its appeal to the drug cartel community of the illegal population.
