The latest is KMNB, Minneapolis, owned by CBS. They just hired a DJ from the market's big Top 40 station, KDWB, owned by iHeart.
In recent weeks, the Nash format, owned by Cumulus, hired Ty Bentli, who had been hosting mornings on the CBS NYC Top 40 station, to be the host of the company's syndicated morning show. And the CBS Country station in Chicago, WUSN, hired the afternoon team from co-owned Top 40 WBBM-FM, Stylz & Roman, to do mornings.
I guess the quest to win younger demos is relentless, even with Country, a format thought to be a bit more mature. Who knows if these people have any affinity for Country music? Does it even matter?
